Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company to these Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Matchboks. By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 16 years of age. The Service is intended for professional recruitment purposes. It is not a social network, dating service, or general-purpose platform.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate, current information when creating your account and keep it updated. You must notify us immediately at hei@matchboks.no if you suspect unauthorised access to your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that appear to be fraudulent.

4. Terms for Candidates

As a candidate, you may create a professional profile, upload your CV, browse job listings, and communicate with matched companies. You agree to:

• Provide truthful, accurate information in your profile. Misrepresentation may result in account suspension
• Use the messaging system for professional, recruitment-related communication only
• Treat employers and other users with respect. Harassment, discrimination, or abusive behaviour is prohibited
• Not share confidential information received through matches (such as company internal processes or salary structures shared in confidence) outside the platform

5. Terms for Companies

As a company, you may create a company profile, post job listings, browse candidate profiles, and communicate with matched candidates. You agree to:

• Post only legitimate, real job openings for positions you are actively hiring for
• Provide truthful information about your company, culture, compensation, and job requirements
• Provide constructive feedback to candidates when a match does not proceed. Matchboks encourages transparency in the hiring process
• Use candidate data accessed through the platform solely for recruitment purposes, not for marketing, data mining, or resale
• Comply with all applicable employment and anti-discrimination laws when using the platform

6. Content and Intellectual Property

Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you submit to Matchboks (profile information, CV, messages, etc.). By submitting content, you grant Matchboks a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to use, store, and process that content as necessary to provide and improve the Service. This licence ends when you delete your content or account.

Our Content

The Matchboks name, logo, design, and all original content on the platform are owned by Moi Consulting AS and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission.

AI-Generated Content

Matchboks uses AI to generate match insights and recommendations. This content is generated automatically and is provided for informational purposes only. It does not constitute professional advice, employment guarantees, or endorsements. Matchboks is not liable for decisions made based on AI-generated content.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Create fake accounts or submit false information
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the platform
• Attempt to interfere with, compromise, or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
• Circumvent security measures, access controls, or rate limits
• Send unsolicited messages, spam, or promotional content through the messaging system
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law
• Discriminate against candidates or employers based on protected characteristics (race, gender, age, disability, religion, sexual orientation, etc.)

8. Matching and AI

Matchboks uses an AI-powered matching system to recommend candidates to employers and jobs to candidates. Match scores are generated automatically based on structured profile data. You understand and agree that:

• Match scores are recommendations, not guarantees of employment or suitability
• Matchboks does not make hiring decisions. All hiring decisions are made by employers
• The matching algorithm and its factors are documented on our How Matching Works page
• You are always in control. You decide which matches to pursue through swiping and messaging

9. Fees and Payment

Matchboks is free for candidates. Companies may be subject to subscription fees or per-feature charges as described on our pricing page. All fees are exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.

10. Termination

By You

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings or by contacting hei@matchboks.no. Upon deletion, your data will be removed as described in our Privacy Policy.

By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if required by law. We will provide notice when reasonably possible. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Matchboks does not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We do not guarantee that you will find employment or suitable candidates through the Service.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Norwegian law, Moi Consulting AS shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from or relating to these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or NOK 1,000 if you have not paid us anything.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Moi Consulting AS, its officers, employees, and partners from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved by the courts of Sandnes, Norway, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence require otherwise. Before pursuing legal action, you agree to attempt to resolve disputes informally by contacting us at hei@matchboks.no.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via email or a prominent notice in the Service at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. If you disagree with the changes, you may delete your account.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
